Security and order Buenos Aires

Security Minister Alejandra Monteoliva met her Argentine counterpart, Javier Alonso, in Buenos Aires this Friday. The meeting took place in the governor’s office, where the province’s security challenges were discussed.

Both officials reviewed the province’s security situation and the planned actions for 2026. Monteoliva stressed the need for coordinated efforts in the fight against drug trafficking and violence.

Quote: "Security and order" – Monteoliva posted on social media, though the post was removed shortly afterward.

During the visit, a photo symbolizing collaboration between the ministries was displayed. The image recalled tensions with former minister Patricia Bullrich over AMBA insecurity and narcotics.

The day before, Monteoliva appointed her first Federal Police leadership, including the ratification of a woman in the top tier. Luis Rollé was named head of the Federal Police and Mariano Giuffraco as deputy.

According to Noticias Argentinas, Mirna Edith Speranza will continue in the State Security Superintendency, while Juan José Mingorán will take over the Superintendency of Administration. Gustavo Alberto Núñez also joined the Federal Firefighters and Risk Protection Superintendency.
